COVID-19: Nigeria’s Cases Rise By To 159,252, From 158,906


Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) revealed that the country’s covid-19 cases increased from 158,906 it was on Monday to 159,252 on Tuesday, March 9th,

The centre also announced that 346 new infections were recorded .

According to the NCDC’s data, a total of 554 patients recovered and were discharged from various isolation centres in the country, while 6 persons died of COVID-19 complications.

“Our discharges today include 170 community recoveries in Lagos State and 83 in Kwara State managed in line with guidelines.”

Giving a breakdown of the fresh infections, the NCDC said Lagos State recorded the highest figure of the day with 86 infections, followed by Bauchi State which reported 64 cases.

Others are; Kaduna (26), Kwara (26), FCT (24), Rivers (23), Plateau (22), Ogun (16), Ebonyi (14), Bayelsa (12), Cross River (10), Edo (8), Akwa Ibom (5), Ekiti (3), Gombe (2), Kano (2), Osun (2) and Delta (1).

As of the 9th of March 2021, a total of 1,988 persons have lost their lives to the virus in Nigeria, while 139,056 patients recovered.
