A devastating tragedy has struck the family of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, as his sister, Atsi Kefas, has died from injuries sustained when she was “accidentally shot” by a police escort. The incident occurred last Thursday while Atsi was traveling with her mother, Jumai Kefas, along Kente Road in the Wukari Local Government Area of the state.

According to sources, the vehicle carrying Atsi and her mother came under attack by gunmen, prompting the police escort to return fire in an attempt to fend off the assailants. In the chaos that ensued, the police officer accidentally shot Atsi, inflicting fatal injuries.

Atsi was rushed to a hospital in Abuja for advanced medical care, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and passed away. The governor and his family have yet to release an official statement on the tragic loss of Atsi.
