A devastating tanker accident occurred early saturday morning, spilling fuel across Eledi Eje Jesu Road near Obasanjo Bus Stop in Ogun State.

The incident, which happened around 5 a.m., attracted large crowds of residents who risked their lives to collect the spilled fuel.

Eyewitnesses say many people, seemingly unaware of the danger, gathered at the scene, with some watching from a distance as authorities tried to control the situation.

Videos circulating online show a chaotic scene, with people crowding the area despite the obvious risks.

Police, fire service, and other emergency responders arrived quickly and have cordoned off the site to prevent further escalation.
