Bandits have struck again in Kaduna, kidnapping an elderly woman and her granddaughter in Southern Kaduna, just 48 hours after her son was killed in a separate attack . Mrs Averik Arak was abducted from Arak village, Sanga Local Government Area, while still mourning the loss of her son, Habila Averik, who was killed alongside his wife and daughter.
The attack is the latest in a string of violence in the area, with scores of villagers kidnapped in Kajuru and Kauru LGAs . In Unguwan Sarki Maro, Kajuru, at least 15 villagers, mostly minors, were abducted in a night raid. In Kadage village, Kauru LGA, 16 residents were kidnapped, and one person was killed.
A local source lamented the media blackout surrounding the resurgence of kidnappings and killings, saying over 100 people have been abducted in the area since December 1, 2025 .
In a separate attack, four family members were killed in Kachia, Southern Kaduna, including Bitrus Bahago, his wife, son, and relative . The Kaduna State Police Command has not issued an official statement on the incidents.
