Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has declared his commitment to supporting the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate for the 2027 election, whoever emerges through a free and fair primary process. Speaking at a welcome ceremony for new defectors in Lagos State, Atiku emphasized that the party will provide a level playing field for all aspirants.
Atiku, represented by Prof. Ola Olateju, stated that the party’s presidential candidate would be determined through democratic means, and he would support whoever wins the primary election. “It’s not for us to predetermine. Whoever emerges through free and fair contests, we’ll all support,” he said.
The former Vice President assured that the ADC would not impose any candidate, adding that the party’s nominee would represent all Nigerians in the election. Atiku’s remarks signal a commitment to fairness and democracy within the party.
The event marked the welcome ceremony for new defectors to the ADC, received by the party’s National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, Senator Kolawole Ogunwale, and the Lagos State ADC Chairman, Mr. George Ashiru.
