The Chairman of one of Nigeria’s leading airlines, Allen Onyema has been explaining why his company, Air Peace, invested in the Embraer model of aircraft.
In an interview on Channels Business Television, Onyema said that because of the cost efficiency of the plane, the company decided to go for it. He also stated that the aircraft is the new in the range of fleet globally.

“Nigerians have been yearning for brand new airplanes. So, we decided this time to give them these brand new planes. The E195-E2 is the latest invention from Embraer, and the newest in the aviation industry”

Air Peace was founded in 2013 as an engine to provide economic opportunities to Nigerian youth. The airline began operations with Dornier 328s and Boeing 737s. In 2017, the first international route to Accra in Ghana was launched. By 2018, Air Peace had the largest market share in the domestic airline market in Nigeria. The airline took delivery of Boeing 777s in 2018, and commenced flights to Sharjah in 2019. Flights to Johannesburg commenced in 2020
