Afenifere For Collective Transformation (ACT) has thrown it weight behind the Progressive Youth Movement in the APC on the call for the Buni-led Caretaker Committee to vacate office and allow for proper convention as provided for by both Nigeria and APC constitutions. The group made this known in a press conference held in Lagos State on Tuesday, 22nd of November, 2021.
According to the Director General, Prince Tolu Ajayi who presided over the conference applauded the Progressive Youth Movement for their standing firm for truth, noting that over 50million Nigerian youths spread across different political parties and those partisan are behind the PYM.
Afenifere For Collective Transformation ACT is a group with young men and women across the Southwest from different political parties, hence the reason why the group has audacity to interfere in any political matter in the country.
According to the DG, Prince Tolu Ajayi he said, “for the first time in our political history, youths within a political party and a ruling party for that matter have shown the courage to speak truth to power. The PYM have demonstrated that even though Nigerian youths might have missed it in one way or the other which we are all responsible for and part of but this step taken by the PYM clearly show that we youths have retraced our steps and now ready to be seen and heard in all ramifications and also positioning ourselves to be active part of decision making in any political party we belong to.
“We believe President Muhammadu Buhari is a father to all Nigerian youths and this he had demonstrated in many ways especially the speedy signing of the Not Too Young To Run. We also believe he is on the side of the PYM on this passage of vote of no confidence on the Governor Buni-led Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and thus, would add his voice to affirm the stand of the youths in his party.
This we believe would further checkmate the excesses of some power drunk leaders in the ruling party”.
Present at the press conference were other leaders of the Afenifere For Collective Transformation ACT which include the Chief of Staff to the DG, Chief Adeola Alao, the Chief Press Secretary, Comrade Salami Taiwo Ramon, Southwest Woman Leader, Madam Doris Parakoyi, Southwest Youth Leader, Prince Adekoya Adekunle, Chairmen of Osun, Ogun, Lagos, Oyo, Ekiti and Ondo and their respective Secretaries among other leaders.
