129

Golden Eagletscoach, Nduka Ugbade, has publicly admitted being afraid of the Morocco U-17 team ahead of AFCON U-17 clash with Nigeria.

Ugbade made the announcement in a pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon. And according to the tactician, Morocco is going to be a tough opponent. But, he however, remained upbeat that his side can get the job done.

Morocco is the current leader of the Group B, with same points as Nigeria. But they lead on goal differences having beat South Africa 2-0.

Nigeria defeated Zambia 1-0 in their opening game of the group stages. And that was through second half goal by Favour Daniel which sealed the victory for the team.

“It is going to be a very tough match. And I must admit that I am very afraid of Morocco myself,” Ugbade told the media during his briefing.

“But, we are going for just three things―win, win, win.”

And in a further statement, the 53-year-old revealed he watched Morocco’s game against South Africa. And he was impressed based what he said in the press conference.

“Morocco is a very good tactical side. I watched a bit of their match against South Africa. And I was impressed with how they played. Because they defend very well. And are tactically disciplined and very compact. We are going to see a very big tactical battle,” he added.

Nigeria will exchange tackles with Morocco for the top spot on Wednesday by 5pm. And a win to either of the two will mean a qualification for the next round of the tournament. Also, the winning team will edge closer to booking a place at the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup tournament.

The match will hold at the prestigious Mohammed Hamlaoui Stadium, Constantine. And Nigerian fans, expects nothing but a win from the Eaglets.
