The Federal High Court in Kaduna has set April 14 as the date for ruling on the bail application filed by former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai.
The court heard arguments from both the defence and prosecution teams on Wednesday, with lead defence counsel, Adewole Iyamu, SAN, expressing optimism that the defence has made a strong case for bail.
In a related development, El-Rufai is scheduled to appear before the Federal High Court in Abuja on April 10 in a separate case instituted by the Department of State Services (DSS). The defence team says it is fully prepared for the Abuja proceedings.
The case continues to draw national attention as the court prepares to deliver its ruling on the bail request in the coming weeks.
