The Rotary Club of Ojodu is delighted to announce the installation of Rotarian Ikpunuekhai Osi-Evans as its 20th President for the 2024/25 Rotary year. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Ostra Hall, Alausa Ikeja, marking a significant milestone in the club’s history.
A statement by Ezenwa Opara, the club’s Public Image Chair, says Rotarian Ikpunuekhai Osi-Evans, LL.B, B.L, EMPM, a distinguished legal professional, will take the helm as President. With a solid academic foundation, including a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Ambrose Alli University and an Executive Master’s in Project Management from Rome Business School, Osi-Evans brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007 and also holds a Certificate in Strategic Management from the Manchester School of Business and Management (MSBM), UK.
His career has been marked by significant achievements, including roles at Afe Babalola & Co., The Law Miners, and Megfel Associates. Notably, he served as Company Secretary & Adviser at Onugie Oil and Gas and Company Adviser at Pwill Global Investment. Currently, he holds the position of Company Secretary & Legal Adviser at Fijame Investment Ltd. Osi-Evans is recognized for his expertise in real estate, corporate, and commercial law, with notable transactions such as the sale of Thai Farms Ltd. to Flour Mills of Nigeria and landmark victories in tax dispute rulings.
Osi-Evans is also an active member of various professional organizations, including the Nigerian Bar Association (Business Law Section, Public Interest), the Chartered Institute of Arbitration, and the Project Management Institute. He is an alumnus of the Rome Business School.
In his Rotary journey, Osi-Evans has served in several key roles, including Club Treasurer, Vice President, and Club Secretary. His commitment to public service extends beyond Rotary, with active involvement in community development through the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Catholic Church.
Outside of his professional and Rotary life, Osi-Evans is married to Princess Barbara Ikpunuekhai and is a proud father of three children: Sean, Annabelle, and Michael. His dedication to excellence is evident in both his professional and community endeavors.
The installation ceremony will feature a pre-installation lecture, the inauguration of the Board of Directors, and a fundraising event to support the Club’s service projects for the Magical year. Rotarian Martins Nnanna, Chairman of the Installation Committee and Secretary of the Club, highlighted the remarkable growth of the Rotary Club of Ojodu since its inception in 2002. Starting as a provisional club and officially chartered on March 8, 2005, with 26 members, the Club has expanded significantly and made a substantial impact through numerous projects in the Ojodu community and beyond.
The Rotary Club of Ojodu looks forward to celebrating this momentous occasion and welcoming Rotarian Ikpunuekhai Osi-Evans as he begins his leadership tenure.
