The incident reportedly happened on Saturday, October 7, 2023, according to a resident of the community, Dogara Peter, who claimed that two of the victims were his mother and sister.
He also claimed that the victims had been kidnapped while they were working on Maikudi’s farms.
Peter bemoaned the fact that this was the third kidnapping of a member of his family, highlighting the severe financial harm it had caused.
“Our community has been thrown into confusion as we have yet to establish any contact with the abductors. We want the security and the government to swing into action and ensure our people return safely”, Peter said.
“We have nowhere to raise money for any ransom. The whole community is traumatized by this sad situation. Our last hope lies in the security agencies and the government.”
The Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, didn’t answer several calls concerning the incident according to a report by the Punch.
Meanwhile, another report by the Punch claimed that over 521 people were killed by terrorists, bandits, and other criminal organizations between July 1 and October 6, 2023, underscoring the country’s deteriorating security situation.
The report estimated that 14 people died in six days in October as a result of banditry.
So far in 2023, July had the most deaths with 219 fatalities as a result of insecurity, followed by 216 in August and 71 in September, the report claimed.
