772 LGs Demarcated For 2022 Census – Kwarra

Ahead of the planned 2022 national census, the National Population Commission (NPC), has ‘demarcated’ a total of 772 local government areas across the 36 states of the federation and Abuja.

This was disclosed by the NPC Chairman, Hon. Nasir Isa  Kwarra, at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, Kaduna during a courtesy visit to the Kaduna State Governor,  Nasir El-Rufai. To underline the efforts and progress made by the NPC thus far, Kwarra empasised that, “The Commission has covered a lot of grounds to ensure that the first-ever digital population census is also realistic in May this year. Our president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, (retd) will be willing to make a proclamation for the census and so the commission is leaving no stone unturned for the conduct of the first-ever digital population census in the country.”

The NPC Chairman also made it known that the commission had traversed the length and breadth of the country and accordingly, conducted an Enumeration Area Demarcation exercise in 99 per cent of the listed areas across the federation.

Hon. Kwarra also told his host, governor El Rufai, that the purpose of the visit was to create public awareness about the forthcoming headcounts and solicit the support of the government and the good people of the state.
