Saying the presidential campaign rally of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Dr Peter Obi was a success in Lagos on Saturday is an understatement. The event, which practically shook the centre of excellence to its foundation has continued to be a trending topic on social media.
The former Anambra state governor visited the mega city to solicit for votes from Lagosians and also sell his candidature to his supporters.
The rally, which was held at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island actually began with a road walk along Lekki-Epe expressway which created a massive traffic logjam on the ever busy highway.
Obi, who emerged from an open roof vehicle led the mammoth crowd of loyalists as they headed to the TBS.
Apparently excited by the intimidating crowd of supporters, Peter Obi, while reacting to the development, expressed his feelings about the vibrant reception given to him by his Lagos chapter of obidients.
Sharing the pictures on his verified twitter handle, Peter Obi wrote: “the turn out is awesome. I’m really humbled.”
Also writing further, he said: “We are pushing through towards TBS. We’re now on the Lagos Road Walk: the turn out is awesome. I’m really humbled!” -PO
