The Delta State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun Kingsley Esiso has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) cannot deceive Nigerians again just as the Delta State PDP Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has solicited votes from the electorate at the grand finale of Ward-to-Ward campaigns in Delta Central Senatorial District.
Receiving more members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Monday, December 5th, 2022, who dumped the party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ewu Wards 1, 2, 3 and Olomu Ward 2, in Ughelli South Local Government Area of the State, Olorogun Esiso, hailed the decampees for leaving darkness to come over to light.
According to the Delta State PDP Chairman, the decampees have chosen the right path and have decided to follow the light and assured them of their inclusion in all activities of the party, adding that they will be entitled to all benefits being enjoyed by members of the PDP.
He said that; “You will enjoy all benefits in the PDP. Join hands with leaders of the party in your areas to chase away APC. APC is killing Nigerians with hunger. The cost of living is rising on a daily basis. Let us manage them till May 29th, 2023 when they will leave us alone. Never again are we going to allow the party to deceive us”.
Mr. Philip Avwotusivwo, who spoke on behalf of the decampees at Ughelli South Wards 1, 2, and 3, said it was Olorogun John Oguma, Festus Utuama, PDP Delta State House of Assembly Candidate and Chief (Mrs.) Oma Jennifer Efeviroro, Commissioner for Science and Technology that talked to them to join the PDP.
He noted that they decided to throw away the broom because they have decided to vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for President and Vice-President respectively; Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori and Sir Monday Onyeme for Governor and Deputy Governor respectively and other candidates of the party.
According to him, “We no longer want to follow APC. We have been wasting our time in the failed party and now that we have been accepted in PDP, we will give PDP all our votes”.
On his part, the Delta State PDP Governorship Candidate and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, while addressing the people of Ughelli South Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, assured them that his M.O.R.E agenda will bring meaningful development, opportunities for all, realistic reforms, and enhanced peace and security.
According to him, the M.O.R.E Agenda is his social contract with Deltans and he will keep to it and stand by it if elected Governor in 2023. “I appreciate the massive support, what we are seeing here is victory”.
“You need someone like me that is broad-minded, Pan-Deltan and unifier who knows your pains to be Governor of Delta State in 2023, not a greedy person fond of diverting all developmental projects to his village.
“I urge all of you to reach out to more people to collect their PVCs and vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for President and Vice-President respectively; I and Sir Monday Onyeme for Governor and Deputy Governor respectively; Chief Ighoyota Amori for Senate, Delta Central District, and other candidates of the party in the 2023 general elections”.
Speaking briefly at Ward 6, Olomu, Ughelli South Local Government Area of the State, where the curtain was drawn on the Ward-to-Ward campaigns, which started in Udu Local Government Area of the State on November 7th, 2022, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo said that the State PDP Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori will make a good Governor if elected, describing him as a man with a wonderful memory and implored the people to vote massively for him and all other candidates of the party.
The Delta State PDP Governorship Candidate and National Deputy Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, signed off the Delta Central Senatorial District Ward-to-Ward campaigns with these words at Ward 6, Olomu; “Today, we concluded the 85 Wards in Delta Central, this journey started November 7th, 2022 in Udu Local Government Area and I have been seeing these beautiful faces since we kicked off the Ward-to-Ward campaigns. No Governorship Candidate has done Ward-to-Ward campaigns before, we started it in order to connect with the people. Governor Okowa has been very fair to all of us in Delta Central Senatorial District, may God bless him”.
“APC has brought hunger, hardship, and insecurity to Nigerians in the past seven and half years, and now the party has nothing to campaign with, therefore do not be deceived again by this failed party. Let us reject APC and its deceit in 2023. With this ticket that you have given to me, I will make a good Governor. I want to sincerely appreciate all of you, you people have done very well. Please, go home and turn these crowds into real votes. I want to commend our leaders and other stakeholders for the show of love and support. I am grateful”, he added.
