A Nigerian man, Jakes Oyilom, has recalled how a 5-minute delay made him miss the Sosoliso Airlines flight 1145 that crashed at the Port Harcourt International Airport on December 10, 2005, killing 108 people onboard, including 60 students of Loyola Jesuit College and televangelist, Bimbo Odukoya.
“It’s another 10th December. A day of sober reflection for me, like it has been for the past 19 years,” he wrote in an emotional post on the 19th anniversary of the tragic plane crash.
“Yes it’s my birthday!!!!!! But IF NO BE GOD WHERE I FOR DEY???
“I just want to thank God for preserving my life. I have had to walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, fought battles, faced challenges and by the mercies of the God of Jacob, I prevailed.
“I recall that day……10th December 2005, when this God caused a 5 minutes delay in my schedule to preserve my life.
“That delay on my way to the airport in Abuja made me to miss the Sosoliso Airline that took off from Abuja and eventually crashed in Port Harcourt. To you ALONE be ALL the Glory and Praise.”
