It never rains, but it pours, hey Sunderland fans?
After seeing their best young player leave and the Aberdeen boss snub them earlier this week, today’s bad news comes in the shape of reports that the Black Cats have lost their legal battle with Inter over Ricky Alvarez.
Remember him? He made just five starts for the Black Cats after signing on loan from the Serie A side in August 2014 in a deal that included a clause that stated they would shell out €10.5million if they stayed up.
Sunderland did beat the drop, but refused to buy Alvarez, claiming he arrived injured and that Inter had deliberately delayed knee surgery.
Report in Italy now suggest that Inter have won the case and the debt-ridden Championship side must shell out.
